When a loved one passes away, it can be a very emotionally challenging time in a person’s life. And we know that, unfortunately, administrative duties also fall to loved ones that they need to take care of. With this guide, we hope to help make any Bondora-related admin as simple as possible.
If you are an heir of a deceased investor, please provide us with the following documents and information to access the money from their investment account:
- European Certificate of Succession (ECS) – This document is always issued by the competent authority in the local member state. It already verifies the deed of inheritance, death certificate, and deed of distribution.
- Proof of your identity – A color copy of a valid passport or ID card (both sides).
- Your contact details – Please share your mobile phone and email address.
- Grant of representation or Power of Attorney (POA) notarized by a public notary – This is only needed if you are not the direct heir or if there is more than one heir, and you represent all of them when communicating with us.
Things to note to avoid delays:
- Please DO NOT post hard copies (physical copies) of these documents to us. We may not be able to send them back to you and will have to shred the documents to protect your personal data.
- Only original or certified copies of the original documents should be submitted as soft copies to our customer support.
- All the aforementioned documents should be certified by official authorities, such as notaries or courts in your local country.
- Suppose the documents are in languages other than English, German, or Estonian. In that case, they must be translated into English before certification, which must be done by an authorized translator (sworn translator).
Please complete the feedback form below and attach all the required documents. We will then contact you to settle the account. If you need any additional help during this difficult time, please don’t hesitate to contact us, and we’ll help you contact the appropriate people.
