Sometimes we need to confirm where the money you transfer to Bondora comes from. This is a standard legal requirement and helps keep the platform safe.
What you need to do
Open the email we sent you about the Source of Funds.
Reply to that email and attach a document that shows where the money comes from.
Send it within 7 days.
Your money is safe. We’ll release your transfer as soon as the review is finished.
Why do we ask for this?
We’re required by anti-money laundering laws to understand the origin of funds used on investor accounts. These checks help confirm that the funds come from a legitimate source.
When you need to send documents
You only need to send documents if you receive an email from Bondora asking for them.
In some cases, you may also see a message in self-service that your latest transfer is on hold while it’s being reviewed.
What documents do we accept?
Send one document that clearly shows the source of the funds. Choose the option that best matches your situation.
Salary or regular income
You can provide:
Bank statement showing salary payments, and the available balance if relevant, or
Payslips (usually for the last 2 months), or
Most recent income tax return
Self-employment or freelance income
You can provide:
Most recent income tax return
Bank statement showing incoming payments, if needed
Savings
You can provide:
Savings account statement showing the funds
Bank statement showing the funds moved into the account you used to transfer to Bondora, if relevant
Sale of property or other assets
You can provide:
Sale agreement, plus
Bank statement showing you received the money
Inheritance or gift
You can provide:
Inheritance document or deed, or a gift document, where applicable, plus
Bank statement showing you received the money
What the document must show
At a minimum, the document must clearly show:
Your name
The amount
Where the money comes from (for example, salary payments, savings balance, sale proceeds, inheritance, or similar)
Accepted formats
PDF or JPG
Screenshots are OK only if they clearly show all required details. If we need to review a longer period, a PDF bank statement is usually required.
What is not sufficient on its own
These documents show the movement of money, but not where it originally came from:
Receipts showing a transfer from your bank to your Bondora Investor account
Receipts showing transfers between your own bank accounts
How to submit your documents
Reply to the email you received from Bondora
Attach the document in PDF or JPG format
Send the email
You may hide information that isn’t relevant (for example, unrelated transactions), as long as your name, amounts, and required details remain visible.
What happens next
We review the documents
We may ask for more information if something is missing or unclear
Once the review is complete, your transfer will be released
Need help?
Reply to the original email request, and our team will help.
