What are the IT risks for Bondora?
IT risk is the business risk associated with the use, ownership, operation, involvement, influence and adoption of Information Technology. IT risk at Bondora is overseen by the Head of Operations; mitigation activities are executed by its three technical architects.
Bondora´s online network and server infrastructure is hosted at Virtion GmbH, Germany. To maximize reliability, the primary center and the back-up center are based in separate locations in Germany. Virtion is ISO 27001 certified and Bondora´s network and server infrastructure is designed and built to be fully redundant. All services carried out by Virtion GmbH are hosted at a data center in Frankfurt, which conforms to various international IT security and quality standards, such as ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and others. The second data center is used for storing offsite backups.
The setup of resources, servers and network infrastructure components is designed to be redundant over two independent fire zones within the data center. This ensures uninterrupted operations even in the event of emergencies caused by fires, power shortages or hardware failures. The two data center areas are interconnected via 20Gbit/sec network. Non-redundant servers run in one fire zone only.
All network components and servers supporting critical online services are designed to be redundant, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, web proxies, application servers and backup servers. Each database server has a redundancy service, and all routers and other main nodes of IT infrastructure are duplicated; every pivotal device is equipped with its own uninterruptible power supply.
